In urban research and landscape urbanism design, mapping is not merely a tool for data representation, but also a method of interpreting the city — helping to identify the spatial, ecological, cultural, and temporal relationships operating within the urban environment.
The online lecture series “MAPPING…” is organized to broaden approaches to mapping as a tool for analysis and research in landscape urbanism through various perspectives — ranging from natural phenomena, multispecies ecosystems, and indigenous structures to layers of memory and spatial traces.
Through sharing sessions by international scholars and practitioners, the program aims to develop skills in:
• Analyzing and interpreting urban–landscape contexts
• Building mapping methodologies for design research
• Exploring spatial data through interpretative and critical approaches
• Identifying ecosystems, social structures, and urban phenomena hidden beneath the surface of the city
